Post Numero Cinco

A book to me to be considered non-fiction has to be true down to the inch basically because the genre nonfiction is supposed to be true. It can’t have changes in it to be more interesting. That’s what we call fiction because it’s not all true there can be portions that are true but if it’s not all true then its fiction not nonfiction. Nonfiction books to me are books that are historical or contain information that has been proven to be true.

Half-truths to me are fiction because the author exaggerated the story. If it’s a good story but it has half-truths I would consider it to be a good fiction book because it’s not all true. To me it does matter that they bent the truth because then part of their nonfiction book is false and there for supposed to be fiction not nonfiction like they may say it is. Also because they bent the truth they created major repercussions that hurt them in the book writing industry.

David shield has never been so far off to me. The fact that he wants to erase all of the lines between genres is ridiculous. Of course we need lines between the types of genre. Genres help people find out what interests them, if there are no genres to show people what they want to read I would assume that people are less likely to read. We also need to label books nonfiction and fiction to show people what’s true and what’s not.
